Mumbai: In a shocking claim, BJP leader and former Lok Sabha MP Baijayant Jay Panda on Wednesday said that he has seen some documents which prove that some Bollywood celebrities have ‘verifiable links to Pakistani spy agency ISI and Pakistan Army’. Panda, who is also BJP vice president, did not name any Bollywood celebrity, but he urged ‘patriotic Bollywoodies’ to stop working with these celebrities.
Panda also claimed that certain Pakistanis, who have business and personal links with some Bollywood stars, have proven track record of encouraging violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Came across shocking threads documenting personal & business links of some Bollywood personalities with certain Pakistanis & NRIs with undeniable track record encouraging violence in J&K, who have verifiable links to ISI & Pak army. I urge patriotic Bollywoodies to renounce them,” Panda tweeted.
Baijayant Panda not the only accuser
The shocking allegations by senior BJP leader have come at a time when Bollywood is battling with various scandals, including nepotism to harassment, triggered by the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The death of Kai Po Che actor has reignited debate about nepotism in Bollywood, with several big names of film industry being accused of favouring ‘insiders’ and harassing ‘outsiders’.
According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have a business relationship with Tony Ashai. Ashai, who lives in America, has been making inflammatory statements on Kashmir.
Tony Ashai is an architect and was born in Kashmir. He has been provoking Kashmiri youth to pick-up stones and guns. This has also been the case with terror sympathisers in Jammu and Kashmir who provoke youth to take up arms.
While Rehan Siddique, is a Pakistani and is based on Houston, he owns a radio channel where he regularly espouses terrorist activity in Kashmir. Siddiqui has extensive experience in the music and radio industry and is said to have organised more than 400 successful concerts with many of the biggest stars from South Asia and Bollywood.
“He owns a radio channel and brings Indian artistes to Houston for Bollywood concerts. He uses his radio channels as a platform to run anti-India propaganda,” a prominent member of the Indian community in Houston has said.
Siddiqui’s radio channel is also accused of running anti-India propaganda during the Pulwama attack and the subsequent Balakot strikes.
Dubious event manager in Bollywood
G Kishan Reddy, Minister of State for Home Affairs, has issued a letter responding to a letter written by Shiv Sena member of Parliament Rahul Shewale regarding a Pakistan original Bollywood event manager. In the letter, G Kishan Reddy says that in reference to Shewale’s letter to the Prime Minister dated 17th February 2020, he got the issue examined and the Ministry of External Affairs has apprised that Rehan Siddiqui, Rakesh Kaushal and Darshan Mehta have been blacklisted on the recommendations of the Consulate General of India, Houston.
The letter further says that the Embassy of India in Washington DC and the Consulate General of India in Houston have been requested to engage with prominent influencers, cultural bodies and bonafide ‘Bollywood affiliated’ local entities to ensure that appropriate message is conveyed to Indian actors and artists to that they can disassociate themselves from such anti-national elements.
Rehan Siddiqui has been organising Bollywood events and funding anti-India propaganda, especially against Kashmir. In February, it was reported that Rehan Siddique was on the radar of Indian authorities after it was revealed that Siddique organises Bollywood events and the money raised from it is used to fund anti-India activities abroad, especially with a focus on Kashmir.
