Modi at Nadda felicitation: Rejected by people, opposition spreading lies

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘We’ve come to serve Mother India for a long time, not temporarily. We’re going to serve for centuries.’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing party workers at a function held at the party headquarters to welcome the newly elected president of BJP JP Nadda, lashed out at the opposition. He said politicians who had been rejected by the public are now using lies and illusions as weapons. Pointing to the ongoing protests against the CAA, the prime minister said, “The rejected politicians are spreading illusions, but people’s trust is not shaken. Their lies will go on and we will keep going too.”

Prime Minister Modi greeted Nadda in his welcome address. He said that the opposition had been rejected by the public and now they had turned lies and illusions into their weapons. He said, “We need more activism; there is a need to reach every person.”

The prime minister further said, “The BJP has expanded in such a short time and connected with the hopes and aspirations of the people. It is not just on the basis of the numerical force but it has also made a place in the hearts of common people. We have come to serve Mother India for a long time, not temporarily. We are going to serve for centuries.”

We will never let the separation between the government and the party in any situation end.

The prime minister said, “Those who were rejected by the people in electoral politics now have few weapons left. These include spreading lies, spreading lies again and again. We are constantly watching this.” He said, “People are our strength. The same power gave an absolute majority to a non-Congress party for the first time consecutively with a successively stronger majority.”

The prime minister said, “People of Himachal Pradesh may think that one of the sons of Himachal has become the president of the BJP today, but the right of Himachal to Nadda ji is as much as that of Bihar to him. Nadda ji is educated in Bihar. Bihar would be prouder of him. Himachal can be proud that Atal ji also belonged to them. The most active days of my life were spent in Himachal.”

The prime minister said that he had long experience of working with Nadda. He said, “I got a chance to work in Himachal for a long time. When I used to be responsible for the organisation of the party, Nadda ji used to lead the Yuva Morcha.”

The prime minister said, “The speciality of the Bharatiya Janata Party has been that the party expanded but on the basis of democratic values, which should be strengthened. We have come to serve Maa Bharati (Mother India) for centuries. Do not sit pretty without fulfilling the hopes and aspirations with which this party was born.”

Praising former BJP president Amit Shah, the prime minister said that he gave a lot of strength to the party. He said, “It is difficult for a political party to struggle while in power, but while the BJP is in power, Amit Shah expanded the party, which is a big thing.”

We have come to serve Mother India for a long time, not temporarily. We are going to serve for centuries.

The prime minister said, “We will never let the separation between the government and the party in any situation end. We will follow the necessary limitations completely.”

Modi said, “Election has now become a continuous process for political parties. Generally, our party’s struggle and organisation have expanded on these two tracks. It has been the mantra of the workers to strive to solve the problems of the country and to keep the organisation growing.”

The prime minister said, “With the ideals and values in politics, to which we dedicated four or five generations, today BJP will mould itself according to the hopes and aspirations of the nation with the same ideals and values. We will expand further.”

BJP leaders led by the prime minister welcomed and felicitated Jagat Prakash Nadda at the party headquarters in Delhi today after he was elected unopposed as the national president of the organisation. The prime minister, former BJP president and Home Minister Shah, Lal Krishna Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari were among the tallest leaders present on the occasion.
