Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit turns 53 this year and continues to be the forever Dhak Dhak girl of Bollywood. The actor went on a long sabbatical after her wedding and move to the US. After she shifted to India with husband Sriram Nene and kids, she has been active in films and TV again. She was seen in two big budget films last year, Kalank and Total Dhamaal.
The actress has been working for more than three decades and has established a top place for herself in the industry with films like Dil, Beta, Saajan, Khalnayak, Ram Lakhan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!, Devdas and Dil To Pagal Hai.
For a couple of years after marriage, she left the industry to be an NRI wife and mom but she returned to India and made a comeback with a bang. She once again spelt magic in Bollywood as well as embraced television with her relentless charisma. Today as the actress is celebrating her 53rd birthday.
Madhuri had also shared a secret of their successful marriage, “What is wonderful about both of us is we don’t want to change each other and that’s what everybody does the moment you get married. I love the way he is and the same is with him.”
Madhuri had marked her debut in Bollywood with the 1984 release Abodh opposite Bengali actor Tapas Paul. However, the film failed to impress audiences as well as the critics. The actress was just 17 years old when made her debut.
In 1988, the beauty featured in Tezaab opposite Anil Kapoor and then there was no looking back for her. The film also got her a Filmfare nomination. This BTS still is from the song Ek Do Teen which went on to become a chartbuster. It’s been over two decades since Mohini taught us with the Ek do teen of romance.
Dixit has ruled our hearts with her beautiful smile and of course, with some iconic dance numbers as well. Madhuri rose to fame with hit dance track Ek Do Teen from the film Tezaab which released in 1988. Fans used to call her by her song names like Dhak Dhak, Mohini to name a few.
While Madhuri is back to films and television reality shows as a dance judge now, the actress had taken a sabbatical from work and relocated to the US with her husband Sriram Nene and gave birth to two sons while there.
She relocated to India in 2011 and after a seven-year gap returned to the big screen with films like Dedh Ishqiya, Gulab Gang and Bucket List among others.
On work front, she will next star in Netflix’s series The Heroine, produced by Karan Johar.
