Honeypreet, out on bail, finds Dera followers still as crazy

The convoy of cars to escort Honeypreet swelled in size from three to 30 as she reached the dera where hundreds awaited her arrival for hours

Honeypreet, who was lodged in Ambala Central Jail for 803 days in Panchkula violence case, came out of jail on bail on Wednesday. After coming out of jail, she headed for Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa. She entered the camp with a convoy of vehicles. After spending some time in the cave of Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim, she finally went to her house.

After Honeypreet’s return to the Dera Sacha Sauda, a question has arisen whether she will take charge of the dera herself or whether Gurmeet Ram Rahim will try to come out of the prison either by challenging his sentence or on parole.

The car carrying Honeypreet

After being released on bail from Ambala’s Central Jail, Honeypreet saw the size for her convoy grow from 3 to 30 cars up to Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa. The cars took her to all the places she wished to visit. In the journey of nearly 200 km, people were seen standing everywhere to welcome her.

Even though there were 30 vehicles in Honeypreet’s convoy, only eight went from Gate No. 7 to inside the camp. Everyone else remained outside. At 9:40 AM, she reached her tent after being in jail for 803 days.

In the joy of the arrival of Honeypreet, Ram Rahim’s disciples organised a special “Ramcharcha” in the camp where songs were sung, expressing their emotions. She would stay for some time in Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s cave.

Honeypreet had to go to jail in connection with the violence in Panchkula after the rape accused Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was convicted, sentenced and incarcerated. Tight security arrangements were made before her release. She got bail on two bonds of Rs 1 lakh each. She was under trial at the Panchkula court under FIR No. 345 under the Panchkula Sector 5 police station.
