One personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was injured in an IED blast in Gangoo area of Pulwama, in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The injured jawan has been identified as GD Pardeep Dass.
The IED blast was carried out by terrorists, news agency reported. It took place on the Srinagar-Pulwama road when the Road Opening Party of the CRPF was being deployed in the area.
News agency quoted a police officer as saying that the CRPF personnel suffered injuries in his hands due to the blast, but his condition is stable.
The area has been cordoned off, and search operation is underway. This is the second attack on CRPF in the last four days. A CRPF jawan and a civilian were killed in Sopore on Wednesday.
A massive search operation has been launched to nab the militants responsible for the blast.
Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Police came to the rescue of a three-year-old boy during a terrorist attack in Baramulla district on Wednesday. The police rescued the toddler from getting hit by bullets after terrorists opened fire at a patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district killing a CRPF personnel and one civilian.
One personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a civilian were killed while two other security force personnel received injuries in the gunbattle. Three other CRPF jawans have been injured.
Three Central Reserve Police Force jawans suffered serious injuries in the attack that took place in Sopore town, about 50 km from Srinagar.
The area has been cordoned off and search is on to nab the terrorists who managed to flee the scene.
The encounter started after terrorists attacked a CRPF’s road opening party when they were placing a check post along with personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police on the Sopore by-pass highway in Model Town of Sopore.
The area has been sealed and a search operation has been launched. Officials of the Indian Army and police are also on the spot.
