ABC cancels Priyanka Chopra’s Quantico

New Delhi: ABC network has decided to drop Priyanka Chopra-starrer Quantico. The third season of the FBI drama went on air recently and after failing to get favourable viewer ratings, ABC decided to pull the plug on the show.

Three episodes into its third season, Quantico is averaging a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.3 million total viewers, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day numbers.

Apart from Quantico and Designated Survivor, ABC has also cancelled Zach Braff’s comedy series Alex, Inc, The Crossing, an acclaimed allegorical sci-fi drama series that’s only aired six episodes, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World and The Mayor.

But there’s a silver lining… the Harold & Kumar film series actor Kal Penn expressed his desire to work with Priyanka. Quantico features Priyanka as FBI recruit framed for a bombing attack.

On other hands, “Hey Priyanka Chopra let’s do a movie,” Kal Penn tweeted.

“Done and done,” PC tweeted back.

Bharat is the Hindi adaptation of Korean film Ode To My Father, the rights to which were acquired by Salman’s brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri.

Priyanka Chopra was last seen in Prakash Jha’s Jai GangaaJal, which released in 2016. In the last two years, Priyanka debuted in Hollywood in Baywatch and made 2 more English films – A Kid Like Jake and Isn’t It Romantic?.

Priyanka produced several regional films through her Purple Pebble Pictures. Marathi film Ventilator, Punjabi film Sarvann and Sikkimese film Pahuna were critically acclaimed.

Additionally, she will produce and star as the astronaut Kalpana Chawla in Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’s untitled biopic. In July 2017, it was announced that Chopra is developing a sitcom for ABC based on the life of Madhuri Dixit, and will also serve as an executive producer.
